It took me a while to find my footing as a working writer. It was always how I wanted to make a living, but for a long time, it felt like an impossible dream. I spent my 20s in a variety of jobs that weren't in alignment for me—waitress, school teacher, office worker. After my first two children were born, I took the leap and became a full-time freelance writer. I had exactly one client, and it was terrifying, but I jumped off the cliff and grew my wings on the way down. It was the first time I really trusted myself. Since then, I've had the pleasure of working with some fantastic companies and publications.
I have a bachelor's degree in journalism and creative writing from the University of Central Florida, and I love the freelance life. I live with my three daughters and two Dachshunds on Florida's Gulf Coast.
